Heads of Finland’s missions abroad and foreign policy leaders will meet at the 2025 Annual Meeting of Heads of Mission in Helsinki at the Parliament Annexe ‘Little Parliament’ on 25–27 August, said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a press release on Wednesday.
The meeting will discuss topical issues related to foreign and security policy and international relations.
In addition to Finnish state leaders’ policy speeches, this year’s meeting will feature discussions on the significance of multilateral cooperation, economic security and the changing world order for diplomacy.
“The changing world order poses challenges to multilateral cooperation and diplomacy. Finland’s strong and effective network of diplomatic missions is necessary for responding to foreign and security policy challenges,” said Permanent State Secretary Jukka Salovaara.
The speakers at the annual meeting are President Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio, Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen, Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Joakim Strand, Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto and Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz, responsible for Nordic cooperation.
Jukka Salovaara will chair the meeting.
