11% more grain harvest forecast in Finland this year

About 3.6 billion kilograms of grain will be harvested in Finland this year, according to the forecast of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).

The estimated grain yield in 2025 is 11 percent higher compared to the previous year and 7% higher than average in a ten-year time review.

The barley harvest estimate is 12% lower than average. The estimate of oat harvest is nearly one-fifth higher than the oat harvest of the last 10 years.

The rye harvest estimate is 8% higher than average. If successful, the pea crop will once again be the largest in statistical history, with a record-high crop area in recent years.

Oats production is estimated at 1.22 million tons (+1%), Barley 1.20 million tons (+3%), Wheat 0.98 million tons (+30%), Rye 0.09 million tons (+115%), Turnip rape and rape total 79,000 tons (+61%), Peas 121,000 tons (+17%) and Broad bean 17,000 tons (+26%).
