The number of births was 7,277 lower than that of deaths in Finland in the January-June period this year, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of births was 22,341 while the number of deaths was 29,618 in the first six months in the country.
During January-June period Finland's population, however, increased by 8,801 persons.
The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad. The number of immigrants was 14,474 higher than that of emigrants.
Finland's total population was 5,644,772 at the end of June 2025.
