76 killed in road mishaps in Finland in H1

A total of 76 people were killed and 1,294 others injured in 1,060 road traffic accidents in Finland in the first six months of this year, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of deaths was four higher and the number of persons injured 167 lower than in January-June period of 2024.

Of the persons who were killed, 46 travelled by passenger car, three by van, nine by motorcycle and one by lorry.

Seven pedestrians, one rider of light electric vehicle and six cyclists on a traditional bicycle were killed. In addition, three other road users were killed.
