About 2.6 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in June 2025, which is one tenth fewer than a year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of leisure trips abroad, however, remained on level with the previous year and was about 0.7 million in June 2025.
The decrease in the number of domestic leisure trips was due to a decline in the number of trips with free accommodation.
Around 1.9 million of these trips were made in June, which is one tenth fewer than one year earlier.
The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation was unchanged from the year before and was around 0.7 million.
The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country was nearly 0.6 million, which is close on one tenth more than one year earlier.
Altogether 8.8 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 4.9 million abroad in June 2025.
