A Finnair aircraft collided with a ground support vehicle on the runway at Helsinki Airport on Saturday morning, local media reported, quoting authorities.
The accident took place at about 10:50 a.m. when the propeller of the Finnair flight (AY1175) bound for Gdansk, Poland struck the support vehicle resulting damage of both the aircraft and the vehicle.
Responding to an alarm, rescue service people rushed to the spot and evacuated all the 68 people onboard safely.
None was injured in the accident, but the airline authority had to cancel the flight.
The incident, however, did not disrupt other flights at the airport, excepting delays in some landings and departures of European flights.
The Safety Investigation Authority, Finland (OTKES) is investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind it, said OTKES in a post on its social media platform X.
Earlier in November 2024, an employee was killed in an accident at Helsinki Airport.
