The City of Tampere on Monday announced to reduce its manpower as a part of austerity measures to save about 10 million euros from the budget of the year 2026, said the city in a press release.
The authority will start the co-determination talks with the employees on August 18, which will affect maximum 200 employees.
The restructuring move will also bring changes to some jobs and certain roles within the city.
The move will try to save customer service jobs as many as possible and the staff in the administrative position are more likely to face redundancy.
The co-determination talks will continue for at least six weeks and the changes will be in effect by July 2026, the press release added.
