President Alexander Stubb will participate in a meeting on peace in Ukraine on Wednesday, said the President Office in a press release.
The meeting will be held via video ahead of US President Donald Trump’s planned meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin scheduled for August 15 in the U.S. state of Alaska.
Convened by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, others European leaders invited to the meeting include President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of France Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as well as President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
After the discussion among the European leaders, US President Trump and Vice President JD Vance will join the meeting.
