
Lawmaker Eemeli Peltonen died in the Finnish Parliament House on Tuesday, said the communications department of the parliament in a press release. He was 30.
The main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) MP elected from Järvenpää died at about 11:00 a.m., said police adding that they did not suspect any crime link to the death.
But a Finnish language evening tabloid Iltalehti (IL) reported that a lawmaker allegedly committed suicide in the parliament building.
Police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the death of the MP.
National broadcaster Yle, quoting a social media post of the lawmaker in June said that Peltonen had been suffering from different diseases including kidney complication.
